On 7th January, 1917, the 20th London battalion of 141 Brigade, 47th Division moved into the front line in the Canal sub sector at Ypres. The battalion diary recorded that 9th January was a quiet day with only a little enemy activity. However it was not quiet enough for Thomas Sirc who was killed on that day. |
